Car Parks within Walking Distance of Ballina Airport Terminals
There are three options to choose from for car parks within walking distance: General Parking, Reserved Parking, and Premium Parking.
All three are only a short walk from the terminal and charge different rates.
There are no hourly parking rates for the Reserved or Premium car parks, as they charge on a 24-hour basis.
The General car park, however, does charge hourly ratings starting at $6.00 for 1 - 2 hours, and $20.00 for 1 day.
You cannot book your parking online at the General Car Park or the Premium Car Park; you must pay at the payment machine (with cash) or the boom gate (by credit card) before leaving.

Arrival: Drive to and enter your car park. On arrival, your car's vehicle number will be recorded.
Return: On return to the airport, customers can either pay upon exit at the boom gate with their credit card or at the two payment stations located inside the terminal, where travellers can enter their car's licence plate number, and pay by cash if necessary.
General Parking
The General Car Park is one of the official car parks at Ballina Byron Airport and is just a short 3-minute walk to the terminal.
The fenced car park is open 24/7, and is equipped with license plate recognition, so your vehicle number will be recognised and keep track of your parking duration so you can pay upon return.
Upon return, travellers can pay with a credit card at the exit gate, or with cash at the payment station with the Arrivals & Departures Hall.
This car park is a great option for Ballina Airport long-term parking as prices are only $20.00 a day.
Currently, the General Car Park is only taking drive-up bookings, therefore, it can not be booked online.

Currently, the Premium Car Park is only available for drive-up bookings and therefore can not be booked online.
Accessible parking bays are available at this car park, and travellers with a disabled parking permit displayed will not receive a parking charge for the duration of their stay.

Vehicles must not be left unattended at any time. Any unattended vehicle will be subject to an immediate fine.
You may collect passengers waiting at the front of the terminal building only if they are all kerbside and ready to depart with their baggage.

Where can I find free parking near Ballina Airport?
Free parking near Ballina Airport is hard to come by.
There are shopping centres, like Tamar Village, located 8 minutes away from the airport, that can serve a free place to park at while you wait for passengers.
However, it is not recommended to park here for extended periods, as your car may be subject to tow.
In the past, some travellers have additionally found free parking on Southern Cross Drive, near the depot of Ballina Shire Council.
It has been noted that parking here can be extremely dangerous, as passengers have to walk on the road to access their vehicles, and there is a blind corner obstructing passengers from the full sight of incoming traffic.
To avoid unnecessary hazards, ParkMundo (formerly Flyparks) recommends parking in the General Car Park at Ballina Airport for low costs of $4.00 for 1 hour, $6.00 for 1 - 2 hours, or $8.00 for 2 - 4 hours.
